BrightFunded Review 2026: No Consistency Rule, Strict Risk Desk
Firm Details

Is This Firm For You? (The Persona Match)

Stop the user from guessing. Tell them immediately if they fit.

Yes, join if:

You Hate Consistency Rules

There isn't one, on the challenge or the funded account. One good trade can pass a phase and fund a payout.

You Trade News or Run EAs

News is unrestricted through both evaluation phases. EAs are allowed on MT5 and cTrader (not DXTrade).

You Want Static Drawdown and No Clock

Both 2-Step plans use a static max loss and there's no time limit on any challenge.

No, avoid if:

You Need Certainty Once Funded

Several traders report a 1% daily risk cap and leverage cut to 1:5 being applied after they passed, and accounts closed straight after a payout without trade-level evidence.

You Want Paid Quickly

Your first payout comes 30 days after your first funded trade. Faster cycles cost an extra 15% to 25% on the challenge fee.

You Hold Open Profit Overnight

Floating profit at the CET rollover raises the next day's loss floor. Commission and swap count towards the daily limit too.

The Propify Reality Check Audit

We don't just list features; we interpret the risks.

⚠️ The "Hidden Rule" Detector

The Moving Daily Floor

The Rule

The daily loss limit is 4% (2-Step Bright), 5% (2-Step Classic) or 3% (1-Step) of the original balance. It's measured from the higher of your balance or equity at the 23:30 to 23:59 CET rollover.

The Reality

Floating profit counts against you. Carry a $1,000 open gain into rollover on a $100K Bright account and tomorrow's floor is $97,000, not $96,000. In a September 2026 Trustpilot reply, BrightFunded described the reference point as the highest balance or equity reached during the trading day, which is stricter than its own help centre states.

Propify Pro-Tip

Treat any open profit at rollover as already spent. Check the "Breach at" figure on your dashboard every morning before you place a trade, and avoid trading the rollover window altogether.

💸 Payout Speed Test

Their Claim

"24-hour guaranteed payouts" with an average processing time of around 17 hours.

Propify Verified

PASSED

Our Data

Trader reports on Trustpilot and PropFirmMatch consistently show approved payouts landing within hours to one day. The catch sits upstream: the first payout only unlocks 30 days after your first funded trade, and several traders report being paid and then terminated straight afterwards.

⚡ The News Trading Scenario

Scenario

It's NFP Friday. Can you trade?

On Evaluation

✅ YES. News trading is unrestricted in Phase 1 and Phase 2.

On Funded Account

⚠️ CAUTION. No execution on affected instruments from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after a high-impact release. That covers opening, closing, stop loss and take profit fills, and pending orders. Profit on those trades is deducted; losses stand. It's a soft breach, so the account survives.

Pro Tip

Take profits on trades opened at least 48 hours before the release are exempt, which suits swing traders. NFP hits USD pairs, gold and US indices hardest; instruments the release doesn't affect can be traded as normal.

Editor's Verdict: The No-Hype Review

BrightFunded launched in September 2023, founded by two Dutch brothers: Jelle Dijkstra (CEO) and Syb Dijkstra (COO). It started in Amsterdam and moved its headquarters to Dubai in January 2025. The contracting company is Bright Global FZCO in Dubai Silicon Oasis, CFD evaluations are offered by BrightFunded Ltd in Saint Lucia (company number 2025-00358), and Bright Transact Ltd in Cyprus handles payments. Former ECB board member Lex Hoogduin and ex-Optiver Willem Sprenkeler sit as named advisers. That’s more visible leadership than most of the industry offers. The awkward part: Trustpilot has withheld BrightFunded’s rating after removing fake reviews, while the firm’s homepage still advertises 4.5 stars.

There are three challenges. The 2-Step Bright asks for 8% then 5%, with a 4% daily loss limit and an 8% static max loss. The 2-Step Classic asks for 10% then 5%, with 5% daily and 10% static. The 1-Step asks for 10% in a single phase, with 3% daily and a 6% trailing max loss that follows your equity high in real time until you’re 6% up, then locks at your starting balance. All three need five trading days per phase, and none has a time limit.

Pricing is in euros only. The $100K Bright costs €477 (about $553), the Classic and 1-Step €497, and the smallest account starts at €47. Promotional codes run most of the time (RALLY25 takes the Bright to €357.75 at the time of writing). The add-ons are where the bill grows: fee refund +10%, swap-free +10%, no minimum trading days +15%, 90% split +20%, bi-weekly payouts +15%, weekly +25%. Stack the refund, the 90% split and weekly payouts and €477 becomes roughly €739.

You choose between MT5, cTrader and BrightFunded’s own DXTrade platform. MT5 isn’t available to US or UAE residents and cTrader isn’t available to US residents, so Americans are limited to DXTrade, which doesn’t support EAs or API trading. The instrument list covers 49 FX pairs plus indices, commodities and crypto. There are no stocks.

Funded accounts pay 80% by default, 90% with the add-on. The scaling plan adds 30% to your account every four months if you make 10% with at least two profitable months and two payouts; your split rises to 90% at the first scale-up and 100% from the third. The marketing calls this automatic, but the help centre says you must ask support for it. Total funded allocation is capped at $400,000 per trader. There’s no consistency rule, which is BrightFunded’s best feature, but its risk team reviews funded accounts on judgement rather than published thresholds. Traders report 1% daily risk caps, leverage cut to 1:5 and recorded video interviews before payouts. BrightFunded’s position is that it has never withheld an approved payout. Several traders say it simply closed their accounts afterwards.

The Propify Index scores BrightFunded at 47.6/100, which is 3 Stars (“Average”). It scores well on Trading Conditions (22/30) and Platform & UX (13/15) and is middling on Cost & Value (12.6/20). The Trust pillar scores zero: a suspended Trustpilot rating triggers our kill switch regardless of everything else. Fix that, and publish what the risk desk actually measures, and this would be one of the better firms in our directory. Until then, the rules you can read are generous and the ones you can’t read are the ones that matter.

Rules Deconstructed

A detailed breakdown of the specific trading rules found in the database.

The "Hidden" Rules (Funded Accounts Only)

The evaluation is permissive. The funded account adds conditions:

News Trading Window

No execution on affected instruments within 5 minutes either side of a high-impact release. Profits on those trades are deducted; it's a soft breach rather than an account loss.

Discretionary Risk Reviews

BrightFunded's risk team can apply extra limits after you pass, including a 1% daily risk cap and lower leverage, and may ask for a video interview before a payout. The thresholds aren't published.

30-Day Inactivity Rule

Place a trade held for at least 60 seconds every 30 calendar days or the account is deactivated. Pending orders don't count. Leave it six months without asking for reactivation and it can be hard breached.

$400K Allocation Cap

Total funded capital is capped at $400,000 per trader across all accounts. Scaling grows individual accounts, but the same strategy across accounts above that figure can be suspended.

Drawdown & Loss Limits

BrightFunded uses Static Drawdown on both 2-Step plans and Trailing Drawdown on the 1-Step.

Max Total Loss: 8% / 10% (2-Step)

Static. 8% on the Bright and 10% on the Classic, fixed from your starting balance. On $100K the floor is $92,000 or $90,000 and never moves.

Max Total Loss: 6% (1-Step)

Trailing. Follows your highest equity in real time, including floating profit. Once equity reaches 6% above the start, the floor locks at your starting balance and stops moving.

Daily Loss Limit

4% Bright / 5% Classic / 3% 1-Step, always a percentage of the original balance. Calculated from the higher of balance or equity at the 23:30 to 23:59 CET rollover. Commission and swap count.

Prohibited Strategies

HFT, Tick Scalping & Grid

High-frequency strategies, seconds-long tick scalping and grid systems are banned. Normal scalping is fine.

Arbitrage & Latency Exploits

Exploiting price feed delays, slow external data feeds or platform errors is prohibited, as is arbitrage between brokers or instruments.

Copy Trading & Signal Groups

You can copy between accounts you own, including other prop firms and your own broker account. Copying anyone else, including family, or trading from signal groups is banned.

Cross-Account Hedging & Risk Abuse

Opposite positions across accounts or with other traders are banned. The rules also cover overleveraging, overexposure to correlated pairs, averaging down and account rolling, judged at BrightFunded's discretion.

Payout Policy

Verified 24-hour processing after a 30-day first payout wait

Payout Schedule & Speed

First Payout

Available 30 days after your first trade on the funded account. No minimum amount.

Ongoing Cycle

Bi-weekly after the first payout per the help centre. Checkout also sells bi-weekly (+15%) and weekly (+25%) payout add-ons, so verify in your dashboard which cycle your account carries.

Processing Time

Processed within 24 hours, with a stated average of around 17 hours. Trader reports back this up.

Methods & Fees

Bank transfer (paid in euros) or USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20). BrightFunded charges no fee; banks, networks and conversion can take $5 to $50.

Profit Split & Scaling

Starting Split

80%. 90% from day one with the +20% add-on.

Scaling Potential

Account grows 30% every four months if you make 10% with two profitable months and two payouts. Split goes to 90% at the first scale-up and 100% from the third. No upper account limit, but the $400K allocation cap applies. You must request it from support.

Refunds

Not standard. The challenge fee is refunded with your first payout only if you bought the +10% refund add-on. Unused challenges can be refunded within 30 days of purchase if no trades were placed.

15% Evaluation Profit Reward

15% of the profit you made in the evaluation is added to a new funded account once you reach 10% growth and take a payout. On $100K with $13,000 of evaluation profit, that's $1,950.

Pros & Cons

The Good

No Consistency Rule

None on the challenge or the funded account. A single trade can pass a phase or fund a payout.

Static Drawdown, No Time Limit

Both 2-Step plans use a fixed max loss from the starting balance, and no challenge has a deadline.

Fast, Reliable Processing

Approved payouts typically arrive within a day, by bank transfer or USDC.

Named Leadership

Founders, advisers and four operating entities are disclosed on the site.

The Bad

Trustpilot Rating Suspended

Trustpilot removed fake reviews and withheld the score. The homepage still shows 4.5.

Discretionary Risk Desk

Unpublished post-funding limits and terminations after payouts are a recurring complaint.

Paid Add-Ons Everywhere

Fee refund, 90% split and faster payouts all cost extra, and the first payout waits 30 days.

The Math

BrightFunded Cost: $5.53 per $1,000 of buying power. Industry Average: about $5.00 to $5.50 per $1,000. Verdict: list price sits just above the industry range. The promo codes that run most months bring it to about $4.15 per $1,000, but add-ons for a refund, the 90% split or faster payouts push it back up quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What’s the difference between the three BrightFunded challenges?

A: The 2-Step Bright has the lowest targets (8% then 5%) with a 4% daily and 8% static max loss. The 2-Step Classic asks for 10% then 5% but gives more room: 5% daily and 10% static. The 1-Step needs 10% in one phase with 3% daily and a 6% trailing max loss, the strictest of the three.

Q: Is the challenge fee refunded?

A: Only if you buy the 100% Challenge Fee Refund add-on at checkout, which adds 10% to the price. It’s then returned with your first payout. Without it, the fee isn’t refunded.

Q: Does BrightFunded have a consistency rule?

A: No. There’s no consistency rule on the challenge or the funded account, so a single profitable trade can pass a phase or fund a payout.

Q: Can I trade news?

A: Freely during both evaluation phases. On a funded account you can’t execute on affected instruments from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after a high-impact release; profit from those trades is deducted, but the account isn’t breached. Take profits on trades opened 48 hours or more before the release are exempt.

Q: Can I use EAs?

A: Yes, on MT5 and cTrader, as long as you stay within the loss limits. DXTrade doesn’t support EAs or API trading. HFT and tick-scalping bots are banned.

Q: When do I get my first payout?

A: 30 days after your first trade on the funded account. After that, payouts run bi-weekly per the help centre, with bi-weekly and weekly add-ons sold at checkout. Approved payouts are processed within 24 hours by bank transfer in euros or USDC.

Q: What add-ons are available?

A: Fee refund (+10%), swap-free (+10%), no minimum trading days (+15%), 90% profit split (+20%), bi-weekly payouts (+15%) and weekly payouts (+25%). Each is a percentage of the challenge fee.

Q: Which platforms can I use?

A: MT5, cTrader and DXTrade. US residents can only use DXTrade; UAE residents can’t use MT5.

Q: Is BrightFunded regulated, and is the capital real?

A: No. BrightFunded holds no financial licence and every account, including funded accounts, is a demo account with simulated capital. Payouts are made in real money based on your simulated results. Its Trustpilot rating is currently suspended after Trustpilot removed fake reviews.
