FTMO Instant Account Review: Rules, Prices and Is It Worth It?
No challenge, a 90% split and rewards from day one. The catch: up to €2,999 you never get back, a 3% daily limit and a drawdown that never resets.
Last updated: 19 October 2026
The short answer
FTMO Instant, launched on 12 October 2026, is FTMO’s first instant funding account. You pay once, the account is live immediately and you can request a reward 14 days after your first trade. No profit target, no evaluation, no time limit.
You pay heavily for the shortcut. The $100K account costs €2,999, more than five times FTMO’s $100K 2-Step Challenge, and the fee is never refunded. The rules are tighter too, which FTMO itself admits. For most traders, a challenge or a disciplined, well-stopped CFD account of their own is better value.

How much does FTMO Instant cost?
| Account | Price | About | Profit to recover fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | €169 | $189 | $210 (4.2%) |
| $10,000 | €339 | $380 | $422 (4.2%) |
| $25,000 | €749 | $839 | $932 (3.7%) |
| $50,000 | €1,499 | $1,679 | $1,865 (3.7%) |
| $100,000 | €2,999 | $3,359 | $3,732 (3.7%) |
Converted at €1 = $1.12. Profit to recover fee is the gross profit at which your 90% share equals the fee, before commission and card charges.
FTMO’s $100K 2-Step lists at €540 and refunds it with your first reward (FTMO vs FundedNext). Instant costs 5.5 times as much and you never see it again. In effect, you are paying about €2,460 to skip a $15,000 profit target (fees explained).
The rules that catch traders out
A 3% daily limit leaves almost no room on small accounts
The daily limit is 3% of starting capital, measured from each midnight’s balance and including open losses. On the $5,000 account that is $150. On $10,000 it is $300.
That is not much market. On a $5,000 account:
- one standard lot of EUR/USD breaches the limit on a 15-pip move
- use the full 1:100 leverage on offer and under 4 pips does it
- a 0.1-lot gold position breaches on a $15 move, a fraction of a normal day’s range
The percentage is the same on every size, but on the small accounts most people buy first, it means trading positions so small that hitting the 3.7% needed to recover the fee becomes a long grind. Any normal-sized position puts the account one bad candle from a breach.
The 10% drawdown trails, and never resets
The maximum loss sits 10% below your highest closed balance and only ever moves up. Unlike FTMO’s 1-Step, it does not reset when you withdraw. So your best run permanently sets your buffer.
On $100K: reach $106,000 and the floor rises to $96,000. Withdraw your profit and the balance returns to $100,000, but the floor stays put. Your 10% buffer is now 4%, for good. Reach $112,000 and withdrawing everything would breach the account outright. FTMO says avoiding that is your responsibility.
30% consistency rule
Your best day must be no more than 30% of total profit before you can withdraw. That means at least four profitable days per reward, and one big day delays payment: a $3,000 best day needs $10,000 of total profit. The count restarts after every reward.
News and weekends
Instant follows FTMO’s Standard rules: no trading targeted instruments two minutes either side of selected releases, and positions closed before the weekend. As the account is funded from day one, both apply from your first trade (news trading rules).
Instant vs a challenge vs your own account
| $100K buying power | FTMO Instant | FTMO 2-Step |
|---|---|---|
| Price | €2,999 | €540 |
| Refunded? | No | Yes, with first reward |
| Profit to get funded | None | $15,000 |
| Daily limit | 3% | 5% |
| Maximum loss | 10%, trailing, never resets | 10%, static |
| Consistency rule | 30% | None |
| Split | 90% | 80%, up to 90% |
Instant pays sooner and at a higher split. The 2-Step costs less than a fifth as much, refunds the fee and gives more room.
There is also a third option. The Instant fee is gone the day you pay it. Money in your own trading account is only lost if your trades lose it. A trader who already has the discipline Instant demands, small positions and a hard stop on every trade, can apply it to a standard CFD account: no fee, no daily limit set by someone else, no trailing floor, no consistency rule and 100% of the profit. The trade-off is scale. Your returns are on your own capital rather than $100K, and the losses are real money. But for a disciplined trader putting a few hundred to a few thousand euros at risk, it is, on balance, probably the better value.
Who is FTMO Instant for?
Consider it if you have a proven record of steady, low-drawdown trading, you have passed challenges before and you value time over money.
Look elsewhere if you are new to prop trading, you trade a small account with normal position sizes, you hold through news or weekends, or you want your fee back.
Frequently asked questions
What is the FTMO Instant Account?
An instant funding account launched by FTMO on 12 October 2026. It is a simulated account of $5,000 to $100,000, live on purchase, with no challenge or profit target and a 90% profit split.
How much does FTMO Instant cost?
From €169 for $5,000 to €2,999 for $100,000. The fee is one-off and not refundable.
What are the FTMO Instant drawdown rules?
A 3% daily loss limit and a 10% maximum loss that trails your highest closed balance. The maximum loss never moves down and does not reset when you withdraw.
Is 3% daily drawdown enough on a small account?
Rarely. On the $5,000 account the limit is $150, which one standard lot of EUR/USD loses in 15 pips. Positions must be very small to survive.
When can I get paid on FTMO Instant?
From day 14 after your first trade, provided your best day is no more than 30% of total profit. Rewards then follow every 14 days.
Is FTMO Instant worth it?
For most traders, no. The $100K 2-Step costs less than a fifth as much and refunds its fee, and a disciplined trader using stops on their own CFD account avoids the fee altogether. Instant suits experienced, consistent traders who value immediate access.
The Propify view
FTMO has built a cautious instant product: a high, non-refundable fee, a 3% daily limit that leaves small accounts almost no room, and a trailing drawdown that punishes success. For a proven, steady trader in a hurry, it is credible and backed by FTMO’s payout record. For everyone else, take the 2-Step, or keep the fee and trade your own account with tight stops.
